Darjeeling Dash - continued
Sunday
The day is free to explore Darjeeling, and you’ll stay overnight at the Cedar Inn with, weather permitting, breathtaking views of the Himalayas, dominated by Kanchenjunga, the third highest mountain in the world.
Included: breakfast, transfers, School Train ticket, accommodation. Not included: Joy Train ticket, other meals, incidentals
Monday
A completely free day in Darjeeling. The options are almost endless. Take the Joy Train to Ghum, visit the Tibetan Refugee Self-Help Centre, the Mountaineering Institute, visit a tea estate, examine the bazaar or just enjoy the magnificent scenery. You’ll spend a second night at the Cedar Inn.
Included: breakfast, accommodation. Not included: local transport, Joy Train, sightseeing, other meals, incidentals
Tuesday
You have another free day in Darjeeling to catch up on whatever you missed yesterday! However, in the late afternoon, you’ll take the vehicles back down the hill on the four hour journey back for a last night at the Cindrella hotel at Siliguri.
Included: breakfast, road travel, dinner, accommodation. Not included: other meals, local sightseeing in Darjeeling, incidentals
Wednesday
After breakfast, you’ll take the short road journey to New Jalpaiguri to catch the 0945 train for the full day journey back down to Calcutta, where you’re due to arrive at 1955. You’ll be met at the station and taken to your hotel. The train has a pantry car, so you shouldn’t starve, and there will be the opportunity for a late meal in Calcutta.

Thursday
An early start, with a packed breakfast provided you’ll take a ride back out to Calcutta’s airport to check in at 0750 for Air India’s direct flight which leaves at 1050 for London Heathrow, where you are due to arrive at 1640.
Included: breakfast, transfer, flight, meals on flight. Not included: other meals and onward travel from Heathrow.
** Note: If you’d prefer not to travel between Calcutta and New Jalpaiguri by rail, we can arrange for you to fly between Calcutta and Bagdogra (at extra cost). Please let us know on the Booking Form.
